TSC Breakdown of July Salary Increment Per Job Group. The salaries and remuneration has confirmed teachers are set for a July pay rise. The projected pay rise will see teachers earn good salaries. This will be the second phase of the salary increment. It will be effective in July 2024 as per the signed CBA.
A number of job groups were removed while some were consolidated. The commission introduced a new revised grading system for teachers.
Currently, there are numerous TSC teachers job categories. Teachers in different categories earn varying amounts of money as salary. The job groups come with various roles and positions in the school set up. The highest paying job category is that of a chief principal whereas the lowest one being that of Primary Teacher I.
The planned 2024 wage structure for teachers is now in the offing. It will be done in two phases. The second salary increment phase will benefit teachers in active service. It will rolled out fully in July 1st, 2024.

It should also be noted that the TSC pays teachers depending on the job categories. The TSC job titles include the following;
- Chief Principals
- Senior Principals
- Principals
- Deputy Principals
- Senior Masters
- Lecturers
- teachers in other capacities
Now that it is official the pay scales for teachers employed under TSC varies, we shall delve into the varying amounts teachers enjoy. For instance, Chief principals pocket a whooping ksh. 131,380 to ksh. 159,534.

In addition primary teacher II, currently earning ksh 22,793 will be paid ksh 28,491.
On top of that, senior lecturers ,senior masters and deputy headteachers will also see a significant payrise in their salaries.
Additional allowances for teachers
Additionally, it should be noted that TSC also pays teachers additional allowances and reimbursements on top of their salaries. The allowances are paid every month together with the salaries.
Teachers who make application for reimbursable allowances are also paid. It is designed to cater for diem quotas and other travel expenses.
Once the 2024 July salary increment is fully rolled out, it will help solve teacher problems experienced by low salaries.
