TSC CEO Set To Retire From Office. The Teachers service commission is under the leadership of Dr. Nancy Macharia. Reports indicate that she is set to leave office soon for retirement . This will bring a succession interest among many individuals. TSC is regarded as the biggest employer in East and Central Africa.
Reports from genuine and trusted sources indicate that the CEO will take a terminal leave next year beginning March. This will be prior preparations as she await her official retirement that will come in June 2025. This is set to give enough time for competition on who is to succeed her.
Last year, the commission issued clear information regarding the retirement issues of Dr. Nancy Macharia. There were conflicting reports on whether the CEO was set to leave office upon attaining the mandatory retirement age or upon expiry of her contract.
Mr Calvin Anyuor is the TSC communication director of Legal, labour and Industrial relations. He confirmed that Dr. Nancy Macharia is a state officer as per the law. Therefore, she is not subject to discussions surrounding the retirement rule.
The TSC boss had by then attained the mandatory retirement age of 60 years. This is as per the guidelines from public commission laws.

However, emphatically Anyuor indicated that the TSC boss was eligible to finish her 10 year term at the helm of TSC. The 10 year term is set to end in 2025 as stated under the constitution and the TSC Act.
Anyuor went further to clarify and also directly quote the constitution. He quoted TSC Act of 2012 section 16(3) that says that the commission secretary is a state officer under the law.

The TSC boss was born in 1963. She has wholeheartedly devoted herself in the education sector for the past 28 years playing crucial roles.
The TSC boss assumed office in 2015 after undergoing a thorough recruitment exercise. She was deemed fit and qualified to take over from Gabriel Lengoiboni who was retiring back then, on June 30, 2015.
The TSC boss has been serving since then up to 2020. She renewed her contract for an additional 5 years despite much opposition from key stakeholders and educationists. The TSC boss has formulated several policies that have so far streamlined the education sector.
